September is here and dressing for fall is around the corner! Let’s talk top trends for this season:
VELVET | From outerwear to accessories, velvet dominated the runways for fall 2016. Rich in texture, it adds a bit of luxe any look — don’t you think? I’m loving these velvet leggings that could be worn into the holiday season, this investment bag and these beautiful velvet heels.
METALLIC | Metallic pieces are catching the spotlight this fall. I have my eye on this stunning evening gown, this rose gold statement necklace and these studded flats. Metallic nail polish is even having a moment, too.
FALL FLORALS | Like we celebrate in spring, floral print can be embraced and worn into fall. Just look for richer tones, like black or burgundy, or muted colors, like dusty rose, to keep it seasonally appropriate. I absolutely love this floral romper and this pretty dress for the new season.
BLOCKED HEELS | Blocked heels were a major trend this year and I’m happy to see it continued on. Not only are blocked heels stylish and comfortable, they’re ultra flattering and can be found across a range of price points. Here are my favorite blocked heels under $100, plus their lower-heeled version in multiple colors.
OXBLOOD | Some variation of burgundy or wine seems to be trending each fall and this season, it’s dubbed ‘oxblood.’ The shade is rich in color with deep purple and brown undertones. It’s easy to wear the trend with small accessories like a soft scarf, cashmere cardigan or structured mini bag.
BELL SLEEVES | A nod to the 1970s, bell sleeves are back in style! Whether tapered or dramatic in silhouette, you’ll be seeing lots of bell sleeved tops and dresses this season. Check out this top-rated bell sleeve blouse and flattering dress under $150.
BOMBER JACKETS | Bomber jackets scream that ultimate ‘cool girl’ vibe. This dusty pink bomber jacket or this quilted jacket under $75 would look killer with black jeans. I also have my eye on this athletic bomber that’d perfect to wear to and from the gym.
