My week is ending on a bittersweet note, as I’m headed to my parents’ hometown to celebrate the life of my Grandpa Bill. He passed away at the age of 90 and led a wonderful life — he had a big heart, dedication to family and his community, served our country in the Navy, had a strong passion for lifelong learning, and was known for his love of good jazz. I have him to thank for introducing me to Billie Holiday when I was a young girl and for exemplifying so many important qualities. I normally keep things lighthearted around here, but I also feel the need to give credence to the “real” me and share some things you might not gather from behind a computer screen. This week has been a good reminder to be forever grateful for the things that matter most. Those of you spending the weekend with family and your moms, enjoy your time together! Thank you for reading, and see you next week 🙂
