It’s been six months since moving to New York City and it feels like we’re beginning to hit our groove. We’ve settled in to our new neighborhood and apartment, both of which we love. Daily life feels both demanding and rewarding, raising a 1.5 year old boy in NYC and my husband beginning a new career opportunity here. We’re tired at the end of the day, but feel grateful and excited for this stage of life.
My days are filled with trips to Central Park, playground play dates, outdoor classes, and all the typical activities and tribulations of toddlerhood. Will is now 17 months old and developing into a cute little boy. He’s walking (or running) everywhere these days, which keeps me active! He’s a chatterbox who loves reading, dogs, playing “catch” in the park, building Legos, and climbing all over the playground.
The city is beginning to come back to life — and man, that feels good. I’ve made trips downtown to Soho, Nolita and West Village over the last two weeks and can’t wait to get out more this summer. I keep tabs on places to visit through saving locations on my Instagram “saved” page, as well as Apple Maps. It’s a great way to explore a city, whether it’s your own hometown or one you’re visiting.
And in more happy news: My parents are visiting us in New York this weekend! We can’t wait to be together again after a long winter.
