Today I’m excited to share a simple, 5-step DIY project I completed this weekend: repurposing an old candle into a pretty little vase. It’s a fun way to give new life to your favorite candles, recycling and reusing them as decorative containers. (My favorites to re-use are Diptyque, like this ‘Baies’ scented candle seen here, as well as Jo Malone candles.) Once cleaned, the glass containers transform into beautiful little flower bud vases. You could also display them on your desk to hold pens and office supplies, or in your bathroom to store cotton swaps or lipstick. The DIY is so easy you’ll never want to throw these babies away! Here’s my 5-step guide:
STEP 1: Burn candle until wax is completely melted. Blow candle out and let it cool for 5 minutes.
STEP 2: Place candle into your freezer for 45-60 minutes.
STEP 3: Remove candle from freezer. With a spoon, gently chip away the wax from the bottom of the glass.
STEP 4: Discard all wax from the glass.
STEP 5: Clean glass with paper towel and your favorite cleaner.
And voilà!

Thank you, Laura! It was a fun project to share! 🙂
Is it bad that I want the candle just for the glass jar at the end?! Great tip to put it in the freezer!
