I hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start! I’m excited to host our first guests in our new home – my parents! Today, I wanted to share with you this beautiful garden landscape in New Orleans.
This French neoclassical garden is located in the New Orleans enclave of Metairie. The landscape design seeks to unite the interior and exterior spaces by extending long view corridors from the front entryway through to the lawn terrace and ornate fountain wall beyond, and from the house’s chapel to the pool pavilion. Carved Texas limestone, hand-wrought ironwork as well as glass tile, marble and granite are central elements of the design and provide an opulent juxtaposition to the rich greens of the boxwood parterres, water features and lush plantings of magnolia, azalea, camellia and jasmine.
