Today’s post is a little more personal than usual. While I’ve always wanted this blog to be a happy place (for you and for me), I do feel times when to keep it really honest and share moments of disappointment, rejection, doubt, etc.. Even if it doesn’t come across here on these blog posts or on my brightly-colored Instagram feed, there are times when I feel… well, not so great. The other day I was turned down for a project I was really excited about. No, it wasn’t life-shattering news or a major loss in the grand scheme of things, but it was something that left me feeling pretty bummed. As someone who tends to look on the bright side, I have to remember it’s okay to feel sad or disappointed — but then to move on! Whether it’s in your career, relationship, family or friendships, we’re all bound to feel disappointed or “less than” from time to time. That’s life. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be successful. And that doesn’t make you less of a person. It’s important to be gracious, stay motivated and keep going. And to remember big things happen one day at a time. xo
