There’s no time like the present (or a Monday morning!) to get productive. Whether you work in an office or at home, how do you stay motivated and tackle your week? Here’s what works best for me to make the most of days, here in no particular order:
Tidy up. | Less is more! You know what they say: cluttered space, cluttered mind. Before going to bed each night, I like to spend 5 minutes tidying up around home, so I can begin each day feeling organized and ready to embrace the day.
Carpe diem. | Resist the snooze button and get the morning started! Even the smallest of accomplishments set the tone for the day. Make the bed, unload the dishwasher, organize your bag, etc. These simple tasks only take a few minutes, but always help to get in a productive mindset for the rest of the day.
Power playlist. | If you’re like me, music plays a big part of my day and how I feel. I love creating playlists to energize and inspire my mood. Good music makes powering through a to-do list way better, if you ask me!
Prioritize to-do’s. | Determine what needs to be done now, tomorrow, and what can hold until later this week. Setting priorities puts things into perspective and breaks down what’s most important. I like keeping an “at a glance” monthly calendar, as well as a daily to-do list, to keep on track with commitments and goals.
Go green. | It’s no coincidence what we eat affects our day. I try to eat as much green, non-processed foods as possible — and feel much better doing so! Don’t forget to stay hydrated, too.
Get moving. | Even a little exercise, like stretching or a quick walk, can make a big impact. Take a break to stroll around the block, grab a coffee down the street, or enjoy your lunch outside. Fresh air always helps to clear my mind and feel energized.
Reward yourself. | It’s all about balance, right?! Having something to look forward to is a motivating factor. Meeting a friend for happy hour, planning a weekend mini-getaway, or indulging in a sweet treat seems to work 😉
