December is here and the countdown to Christmas is on! Are you feeling holiday ready? Growing up, I always cherished the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, making most of the excitement leading up to December 25th. One of the best things about the holidays is taking part in traditions — and creating new ones! To celebrate the season, I put together a little list of fun and simple ways to get in the holiday spirit…
CREATE A CHRISTMAS PLAYLIST | I admit: I’m one of those people who could listen to Christmas music (almost) year-round. When it comes to Christmas music, I’m partial to the classics like Bing Crosby and Ella Fitzgerald. Spotify is where I love to create and share playlists. Do you have a favorite Christmas song or album?
DECORATE AROUND HOME | Beyond a Christmas tree, a garland, wreath, throw pillows, or even a simple strand of lights help set the festive mood around home.
EMBRACE A TRADITION | Whether old or new, traditions make the holiday season special. Maybe it’s ice skating, baking Christmas cookies, driving around the neighborhood to look at Christmas lights, or volunteering in your community. Do you have any holiday traditions this time of year?
SIP A FESTIVE DRINK | I’m bookmarking this Pomegranate Rosemary Spritzer now 😉 And, this Vanilla Peppermint Hot Chocolate and Spiced Cider both look so good. Here are more ideas for hosting a festive cocktail party.
DRESS THE PART | Christmas is the perfect time to dress in a little extra sparkle and going glam. Try wearing statement jewelry, dressing in red, painting your nails this shade, and rocking a bold lip color to instantly feel in the holiday spirit.
LIGHT HOLIDAY CANDLES | My favorite Christmas scents are Balsam & Cedar, the Classic Holiday Candle by Nest and this Capri Blue candle, which comes in the prettiest mercury glass jar.
BAKE A DESSERT TO SHARE | A few recipes I’d love to try: Peppermint Bark Brownies, Ginger Molasses Cookies and Cranberry Biscotti. Wrap in a gift box or fill a decorative tin to share. (How cute are these?!)
WATCH A CLASSIC CHRISTMAS MOVIE | My favorite holiday flicks? It’s a Wonderful Life, The Holiday, Home Alone… and Christmas Vacation is always good for laughs.
GIVE THANKS | What the holidays are all about. Spending extra time with family and loved ones, and feeling grateful for blessings in life. I love this list of simple ways to practice gratitude.
What holiday traditions are your favorite? Anything you’d add to the list?
