The beginning of each season is always a good time to evaluate and update my skin care routine, especially when cooler months roll in and dry conditions hit. I don’t know about you, but the onset of fall can really wreak havoc on my skin! That’s why I was excited to partner with Dove to share tips for better skin. Over the past few weeks, I’ve tried to maintain a consistent routine to keep my skin looking refreshed and feeling soft. Though there’s a myriad of methods and products for skincare — for me, it really breaks down to three simple things:
1.) Stay hydrated. | Drinking enough water is important for many reasons, skin included! I always seem to have more energy and clearer, better skin when I’m conscious of drinking enough water. I once read you should aim to drink as many ounces in a day as what you weigh. So if you weigh 130 pounds, you should drink 130 ounces. To keep hydrated throughout the day, I love my bkr water bottle, which comes in a variety of fun colors.
2.) Opt for healthy, natural foods. | A healthy diet works wonders for skin. Choose nutrient-rich foods, like leafy greens, whole grains and vegetables with a variety of antioxidants, for skin that looks radiant. Don’t forget to get enough protein and carbohydrates — those are important, too! For a little extra boost, I like these supplements found at Sephora.
3.) Use the right products. | Beyond taking an ‘inside-out’ approach, using the right products is a third component to skincare.
